Fiscal Year 2007 Objectives

To support company-wide environmental, health and safety (EHS) performance, Estée Lauder Companies has created the following Corporate FY07 objectives

Environmental and Safety Management Systems

Operations facilities

Maintain ISO 14001 Certifications.

Areas outside of Operations

Continue EHS assessment of these divisions and prepare summary and suggested course of action to senior management.

Employee Safety

Lost Time Frequency and Severity Rates and Total Frequency and Severity Rates

Facilities set objectives to meet or exceed the Corporate FY06 Total Incident Rate and develop programs to help the Corporation reach a global rate of 1.0 by 2011.

Facility to develop and implement leading safety indicators (e.g. number of safety committee meetings completed, behavior based safety initiatives, etc.) to improve safety awareness and participation

Determine methods to increase wellness initiatives at each site

Environmental Performance

Pollution Prevention

Each facility to document a formal process improvement that examines one program at the facility and finds a measurable way to enhance the process efficiency therefore reducing waste (reports quarterly during monthly meetings with EAS VP).

Each facility to determine where re-usable shippers could be utilized and perform a cost/benefit analysis.

Waste Minimization

Each facility to pick one waste stream and propose to increase the recycling/reuse percentage by a defined measurable quantity (reports quarterly during monthly meetings with EAS VP)

Energy Conservation

Site to develop and document a five year energy plan.

Each facility to examine one program at their facility and focus on improving the efficiency in a measurable way to reduce energy consumption.

Each facility to review feasibility of cost difference in purchasing green electricity for their facility.

In addition, the various subcommittees of the Corporate Environmental Affairs and Safety Committee were given objectives to develop programs that will strengthen the Company’s Corporate Sustainability Initiatives as applicable to their programs.
