Dan Brestle was named Vice Chairman and President, Estée Lauder Companies North America, in March 2008. In this role he is responsible for leading the Company's North American business across its multiple distribution channels. In addition, he oversees the Estée Lauder, M∙A∙C, Prescriptives and Tom Ford Beauty brands, and the BeautyBank division.

Mr. Brestle was appointed Chief Operating Officer, The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., in January 2005. In that role, he was responsible for Global Operations and Research and Development for the entire Company. He also oversaw the Estée Lauder, M∙A∙C, Prescriptives, Tom Ford and Sean John brands and the BeautyBank division.

Mr. Brestle was Group President, The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., from July 2001 to January 2005 with global responsibility for the Company’s high-growth specialty brands, including Aveda, Bobbi Brown, Bumble and bumble, Darphin, Jo Malone, kate spade beauty, La Mer, Prescriptives, Rodan + Fields and stila. He also oversaw the launch of BeautyBank and its first three brands, American Beauty, Flirt! and good skinTM, which are sold exclusively by Kohl’s in the United States.

From July 1998 through June 2001, Mr. Brestle was President, Estée Lauder (USA & Canada), where he was instrumental in the brand’s globalization, the development of its website and the successful launch of many innovative products. From 1992 until 1998, Mr. Brestle served as President of Clinique Laboratories, where he expanded Clinique in North America and guided the business to become one leading cosmetics brand in U.S. department stores.

Mr. Brestle began his career with The Estée Lauder Companies in 1978. He spent four years in Operations, in distribution and plant management, before being named Regional Marketing Director for Aramis in 1983. The following year he joined Prescriptives as Vice President, National Sales Manager, doubling sales in four years. In 1988 Mr. Brestle was named President of Prescriptives, which at that time became one of the fastest-growing brands in the cosmetics industry.

After graduating from Villanova University in 1967, Mr. Brestle served in the United States Air Force for six years. In 1973 he joined Johnson & Johnson, where he gained distribution, manufacturing and operations experience.

Mr. Brestle is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Personal Care Products Council, formerly known as The Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association. He is the Contributions Chairman for the Look Good...Feel Better program and an honorary member of the Board of Trustees of Shore Memorial Health Foundation in Somers Point, New Jersey.

Mr. Brestle grew up in Atlantic City, N.J., and lives in Wyckoff and Longport, N.J., with his wife, Cathy. They have two children.
