ELC Partners With Microsoft to Create ConsumerIQ Tool for Data-Driven Insights
Company Feature, Apr 29, 2025
Today, Microsoft featured The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) for the company’s creation of a custom agent designed to connect and streamline information, generate intelligence, and help turn insights into action.
ConsumerIQ, an agent built in Microsoft Copilot Studio, is a dynamic intelligence hub underpinned by Azure OpenAI Service, with a chat interface using natural language to provide actionable intelligence. Using generative AI, ConsumerIQ analyses ELC ’s wealth of information to identify trends, connecting disparate data sources and providing strategic recommendations. It brings together decades of ELC’s knowledge along with current trends and studies to provide high quality, data-driven insights.
In March, ELC was chosen for Microsoft’s first-ever Agents of Change list, which honoured customers leveraging cutting-edge AI to deliver transformative results. This inclusion emphasises ELC’s vision to become the best consumer-centric company, leveraging AI tools to support the development of fast-to-market, on-trend innovations and marketing at speed.
With nearly 25 brands operating across 150 countries, ELC generates an immense amount of consumer, market, and industry information to support product innovation, marketing, and sales. This vast amount of data, spread across the company in different formats, including PDFs, PowerPoints, and spreadsheets, is dense with meaningful insights that employees can use to create products and campaigns that meet consumer needs. It is imperative that ELC harnesses the company’s decades of intelligence in this fast-moving industry.
By centralising insights and applying a user-friendly interface, ELC has reduced the time required to gather data from weeks to minutes. ConsumerIQ allows employees to quickly identify consumer insights exactly when they need them—empowering them to make data-backed decisions and move faster in the ever-evolving beauty industry.
