Advocate for Your Breast Health
For more than 30 years, The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) has been a catalyst of progress toward a breast cancer-free world. Through the company’s Breast Cancer Campaign, the company has brought awareness to the disease, addressed stigmas in women’s health, and funded life-saving research, education, and medical services.
Today, ELC remains committed to advancing breast cancer prevention and early detection by accelerating education and empowering women across generations to advocate for their breast health. Through our Breast Care is Self-Care campaign, we encourage women everywhere to be informed, be proactive, and be their best advocates for breast health.

Breast Cancer Prevention and Early Detection
Although there are several breast cancer risk factors that cannot be controlled, such as genetics and age, there are measures women can take to reduce their likelihood of developing the disease and enhance the chances of early detection. Here are some actions women can take*:

Recognise the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.

Make an appointment for an annual mammogram once you reach the recommended age in your country or when recommended by your doctor based on personal risk.

Get to know what’s normal for your breasts by doing a monthly self-check exam. Call your doctor if you experience any changes.

Limit alcohol consumption and quit smoking.

Discuss your personal risk of breast cancer with your doctor. This includes talking about your family history of breast and/or other cancers, age of first menstrual cycle, and understanding your breast density and your doctor's screening recommendations based on this information.

Incorporate proper nutrition into your current diet and make an effort to ensure you are also eating leafy greens, cruciferous vegetables, and foods rich in fibre.

Find a form of regular exercise that works best for you.

Keep up with the latest research and guidelines on breast cancer prevention and early detection. Be proactive in discussing any concerns with your doctor and advocating for appropriate care based on your personal risk.
