President and CEO

Stéphane de La Faverie

Stéphane de La Faverie is President and Chief Executive Officer of The Estée Lauder Companies, and a member of the company's Board of Directors. He assumed the President and CEO position in January 2025, and is responsible for the company’s strategy, financial objectives, and investment priorities, while shaping a forward-thinking vision for the company’s future. With more than 25 years of experience in prestige beauty, Stéphane has an outstanding track record of building and leading global brands and a comprehensive understanding of global markets, local relevance, and consumer dynamics. As President and CEO, Stéphane is focused on building on ELC’s storied legacy while continuing to define its position as a global leader in prestige beauty.

Stéphane joined ELC in 2011, and most recently served as Executive Group President where he oversaw a diverse portfolio of brands – from billion-dollar-plus brands such as Estée Lauder, to scaling and developing brands including The Ordinary and Le Labo. Throughout his time at the company, Stéphane has demonstrated an uncompromising focus on brand excellence and innovation across categories, geographies, and channels, as well as an ability to deliver profitability with discipline, speed, and efficiency.

During his leadership of the Estée Lauder brand from 2016 to 2022, Stéphane harnessed growth opportunities, including hero products, digital-first and data-led marketing, new technologies, and high-growth channels. These strategies enabled the brand to engage a diverse consumer base and led it to become a top brand among Chinese consumers. He has also played an instrumental role in enhancing ELC’s fragrance portfolio during a pivotal moment for the category, adeptly navigating industry shifts and evolving consumer behaviors to create a powerful engine of growth. Stéphane has also shepherded and scaled smaller brands including the integration and expansion of industry disruptor, The Ordinary, as part of ELC’s acquisition of DECIEM.

Stéphane’s strength as an inclusive and empathic leader and his ability to balance emotional inspiration, authenticity, and strategic insights to drive long-term, sustainable growth, have helped him successfully build his portfolio of brands and nurture a winning leadership team. As President and CEO, Stéphane is deeply committed to fostering a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability at ELC.

Prior to joining The Estée Lauder Companies, Stéphane served as General Manager, Giorgio Armani USA, a division of L'Oréal Paris. He began his career with the Lancôme Global brand in Paris, then joined the Travel Retail division as Area Manager for the Luxury Products Group, North America, overseeing the Lancôme, Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren and Biotherm beauty brands.

Stéphane was educated at ESC Bordeaux Business School, and speaks fluent French, English, and Spanish.
