ELC Appoints Daniel Mahler to Expanded Role as EVP, Strategy and Transformation

NEW YORK -- Today, The Estée Lauder Companies (NYSE:EL) (“ELC”) announced that Daniel Mahler has been appointed to an expanded role as Executive Vice President, Strategy and Transformation, effective February 1, 2022. He will continue to report jointly to Fabrizio Freda, President and Chief Executive Officer, and Tracey T. Travis, Executive Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer.
In his expanded role, Daniel will facilitate the ongoing evolution and execution around the company’s strategic processes, including the identification of “must win” priorities for future growth through the development of ELC’s 10-Year Strategic Compass and Three-Year Corporate Strategy, and ensure alignment with the company’s brand, region, function and channel strategies.
Daniel has a deep understanding of ELC’s business, having worked closely with the company since 2016 as a senior advisor, while at management consulting firm Kearney. He officially joined the company in 2020 as Senior Vice President, Global Transformation and Category Leadership, and was promoted to Executive Vice President, Global Transformation and Category Leadership in 2021.
To date, Daniel has led a broad spectrum of strategic enterprise-wide change priorities at the company. He co-designed and operationalized ELC’s integrated Transformation model to accelerate key pillars of change and embed those capabilities within the organization as new, permanent ways of doing business. Daniel will continue to oversee Global Transformation as well as ELC’s Category Leadership capability, with the goal of maximizing ELC’s portfolio of brands to win in skin care, makeup, fragrance and hair care.
