Le Labo

Le Labo

We were born in Grasse and raised in New York City:

Grasse – the long-established world capital of perfumery. A bucolic place in the South of France, filled with fragrant fields, where Le Labo was first dreamed up.

New York – the epitome of fast-paced, urban life, and a place that thrives on unconventional ideas; this is where we opened our first artisanal laboratory in 2006 in the neighborhood of Nolita.

On that (back then) unassuming and quiet street (233 Elizabeth Street, to be precise), we built a workshop aiming to reveal the backstage of perfume making. Freshly hand-blending and hand-assembling each of our fragrances, one at a time and in front of our clients, we went back to the near-forgotten roots of slower perfumery. We would callourselves Le Labo, which stands for “the lab” in French.

The core of our collection is our genderless perfumes and candles, but we also offer sensorial formulas for body, hair and face as well as a grooming line.
