Jane Hertzmark Hudis, La Mer and Kilian Hennessy win prestigious industry honors
December 12, 2016 -- On Thursday, December 8, The Estée Lauder Companies celebrated with three wins at WWD’s 15th-annual Beauty Inc Awards ceremony held at the Rainbow Room in New York City. The prestigious awards honor the industry’s best across a range of categories: from products, brands and new launches, to innovators, influencers and visionaries.
Jane Hertzmark Hudis, Group President, received the inaugural Beauty Newsmaker Award, which recognizes individuals who have dominated the beauty headlines. “Jane was charged with making the grand dame of the department store scene relevant to Millennials, a feat many said couldn’t be done. Over the next six years, Hudis proved them wrong by unleashing a torrent of buzz-building newness,” said Beauty Inc.
La Mer Skincolor De La Mer won the Prestige Makeup Award. “La Mer is betting on hybrids – makeup containing skin-care benefits or skin care containing pigment, depending on who you ask – becoming the next big thing,” said Beauty Inc. Launched in October, La Mer Skincolor De La Mer includes foundation, concealer and loose powder in 18 shades.
Kilian Hennessy, founder of Kilian, won the Prestige Brand-Builder Award. By creating products that pair with scent, Kilian sales growth has been in the double digits since 2009. “Kilian Hennessy has hewed to a very clear vision of developing a luxury fragrance brand for the ages,” said Beauty Inc.
