ELC Announces Paid Time Off to Vote, Launches Voting Resource Hub for Employee
Active full-time and part-time U.S.-based employees will receive paid time off to engage in the voting process
Company Feature, Sep 24, 2020
Building on previous Election Day policies, The Estée Lauder Companies is proud to provide all active full-time and part-time U.S. employees — including those in Retail, Field, Manufacturing, Distribution, Research & Development and Corporate roles — a half day of paid time off (PTO) if they are scheduled to work on November 3, to engage in the U.S. voting process. Employees can choose how to use this time, including voting, volunteering as a poll worker or engaging in another election-related activity.
Between now and Election Day, ELC’s Civic Engagement Task Force will provide additional resources and opportunities to engage, empower, and inspire employees to participate in the voting process. Earlier this month, ELC partnered with the nonpartisan, nonprofit organization TurboVote to provide a high-touch voter service to help eligible voters navigate the voting process. The task force also created a hub of voting-related resources on the company intranet to provide employees with a central place to find out what is on their ballot, get information about volunteering as a poll worker, and locate their polling place if they are voting in person.
In addition to creating the Civic Engagement Task Force, ELC has launched an employee video series entitled “Why I Vote,” featuring U.S.-based ELC employees discussing what motivates them to vote. View the first video from the series below.
