ELC Celebrates Pride Month – “Beauty in Pride: We Are Here!”

Company Feature

To our Global ELC Community,

June 1st marks the official kick-off to Pride Month, a moment for the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies, to celebrate the power of the collective community around the globe. The Estée Lauder Companies and wELCome (ELC’s LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Group) will kick off Pride by celebrating the strength and visibility of the LGBTQIA+ community during challenging moments across the globe and the importance of uplifting and advancing LGBTQIA+ voices in everyday conversations. Our 2024 Pride theme: “Beauty in Pride: We Are Here,” is both a celebratory moment for our community and a call to action for allies alike to reflect, understand, and advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Consistently over the past few years, we have seen ongoing challenges for the LGBTQIA+ community, including increased violence and restrictions on the rights of LGBTQIA+ people.

While Pride Month will always remain a special moment of celebration, we must also remain deeply rooted in the history of Pride and the trailblazers that came before us to pave the way for these moments of celebration we enjoy today. The past challenges we have overcome together allows us to remember that the fight for equality is ongoing and collectively we are stronger together.

Pride is a 365-day commitment, a call to action to support those around you, an obligation to uplift underrepresented communities, and an opportunity to spread love and acceptance.

This Pride:

WE ARE VISIBLE
WE ARE STRONG
WE ARE IMPORTANT
WE ARE PASSIONATE
WE ARE ADVOCATES
WE ARE TRAILBLAZERS
WE ARE LOVED
WE ARE FIERCE
WE ARE COMMITTED
WE ARE UNAPOLOGETIC
WE ARE RESILIENT
WE ARE THE LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITY
WE ARE HUMAN
AND
WE ARE HERE

This Pride, we encourage our ELC community to uplift the LGBTQIA+ voices around you, commit to attending local ELC and community Pride events, and acknowledge the resilience of our community. As we look into the future, ELC and wELCome will foster challenging and meaningful conversations on how to move forward, recognize the work we still have to accomplish, and give ourselves the strength to continue – together – the fight for equality.

wELCome and ELC continue to stand with the entire LGBTQIA+ community and continue to accelerate our strategy and mission to make The Estée Lauder Companies the top choice in prestige beauty for the LGBTQIA+ consumer, a genuine ally to the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as an employer of choice for LGBTQIA+ talent. We continue to be recognized as a “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality” with a score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign’s (HRC) Corporate Equality Index (CEI) and continue to expand the wELCome ERG around the globe.
