The Estée Lauder Companies Showcases New Research at the Chinese Dermatology Association (CDA) 2025 Annual Meeting

Chongqing, China — November 6–9, 2025. At the 20th Annual Meeting of the Chinese Dermatology Association (CDA), The Estée Lauder Companies and several of its brands showcased advances across dermatological science through two scientific symposia, an educational booth, and 23 accepted scientific contributions.

As one of the most influential gatherings for dermatologists, CDA brings together dermatologists, researchers, and industry to discuss emerging science and exchange clinical experience. Within this setting, scientists from The Estée Lauder Companies had the opportunity to engage directly with esteemed dermatologists, share internal research findings and clinical results, and link science to practice through various studies. These cumulative efforts reinforced the company’s reputation for evidence-led innovation that translates scientific discovery into consumer-relevant solutions.

“CDA brought together the dermatologists who shape everyday dermatology in China, and we were honored to contribute,” said Justin He, Vice President, China R&D and Innovation. “Our scientists are advancing the frontiers of skin research through interdisciplinary collaboration. Together with our partners, we continue to deliver high-performance innovations, pairing efficacy with sensorial elegance and clear, responsible storytelling for consumers in China.”

The Estée Lauder brand hosted a scientific symposium entitled Skin Longevity & Age Reversal to showcase its breakthrough longevity skin science, 17 years of research and newest product innovations. Dr. Richard Cao, Vice President, Advanced Technologies presented Estée Lauder’s groundbreaking longevity skin science, featuring the exclusive and patented SIRTIVITY-LP™ technology, which addresses the key hallmarks of aging for visible age reversal. Dr. Danica Chen, Professor at the University of California, Berkeley discussed the power of sirtuin proteins to extend health span and lifespan for the body. Dr. Yan Wu from Peking University demonstrated the efficacy of formulas containing this technology, including a novel method for evaluating under-eye aging.

The brand also presented six posters on longevity skin science, epigenetics, circadian rhythm, and collagen production, further reinforcing its pioneering skin care leadership.

Clinique held a symposium centered on anti-pigmentation and skin brightening of the brand’s potent and exclusive ingredient, UP302. Dr. Chengfeng Zhang, professor at Huashan Hospital, Fudan University, outlined new strategies for managing hyperpigmentation and for developing skin-brightening actives. Dr. Henry Zhou, Director, Advanced Technologies, then delivered a systematic review of UP302. The presentation emphasized novel mechanisms and emerging applications, highlighting how UP302’s actions targeting multiple pathways supported a clearer, more even-looking complexion.

Clinique also hosted an open, conversation-driven educational booth. Brand experts led mini sessions, while invited dermatologists shared clinical cases on skin care and medical device advanced solutions. The sessions translated complex science into clear, practical guidance for real-world skin care.

For the first time, The Estée Lauder Companies’ scientific research was singled out for oral presentations by CDA. The company was honored to share and discuss the latest advances from the La Mer and Clinique brands with dermatologists across China.

In La Mer’s oral presentation, the brand shared new clinical findings in the rapidly growing post-procedure skincare space. In a study conducted with Professor Jiying Dong of Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital, Rejuvenating Night Cream infused with marine-sourced extracts was shown to enhance the anti-wrinkle and lifting results achieved with monopolar radiofrequency treatment when used as part of the post-procedure regimen. In addition, scientists from La Mer’s Max Huber Research Labs presented new data on how their proprietary ingredient, Macrocystis pyrifera ferment (MPF), may help support mitochondrial dysfunction associated with skin aging and environmental stress.

Clinique also delivered two oral presentations, focused on:

  • Ingredient Science: Research on the new mechanism of Clinique’s potent and exclusive active, UP302, for its potential to reverse glycation/carbonylation.
  • Skin Tone Management: A clinical study on Clinique Even Better Dark Spot Clearing Serum for the improvement of post-inflammatory erythema (PIE) and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).

Across its 20 posters, company scientists shared their research findings in multiple topics, supported by in-vitro, ex-vivo and clinical evaluations. The Estée Lauder Companies also shared data-driven insights from an AI-assisted analysis of more than one million men in China, to support evidence-based research and product development designed specifically for men in the future.

The Estée Lauder Companies continues to reaffirm its long-term commitment to dermatological research in China by leading a wide spectrum of research and clinical studies, deepening collaboration with local hospitals and aesthetic clinics, and building a more active presence at dermatological congresses in China, including at events like CDA. Through these initiatives, the company is strengthening locally relevant research and accelerating product innovations that serve the needs of Chinese consumers.
